What's the fun of looking at a blog without some instant satisfaction, eh? Let's get started with 16 year old Nada Malanima doing Ma Che Freddo Fa. Italy, 60's. This is one of my favorites from Italy during this era. I found some later music of hers and it's not nearly as awesome as this song.

Time for a little german band called Asbest. I love these guys

Jacques Dutronc really had it when he was in his prime. Excellent garage rock n roll from France during the 60's.

Ban - Bye Bye...great little psych song.

Beach Boys - Aren't You Glad? Off Wild Honey. If you don't know this era of the beach boys, you're really missing out. Guilty Pleasure #1.

Watch this video in a new window
Кино - Алюминиевые огурцы (Victor Tsoy and Kino!) - I'm not sure which one is responsible for this track, but Kino were an amazing band that formed in the late 70's early 80's in Russia. Read up on them, it's a fascinating story. Victor, who led the band, became the equivalent of James Dean or Elvis or the Beatles (some would argue all combined). This song is Aluminum Cucumbers. I've heard the song itself is basically the equivalent of John Lennon doing Imagine.

Dino, Desi and Billy - the only reason this is up here is because it's the real life Little Ricky (though not the one playing Little Ricky on Lucy) and Dean Martin's kid. It was rough being a kid back then, even if you were richer than sh*t <--sorry, station policy.

Little Anthony - Hurt (this would be guilty pleasure number 2). This song sounds like it's dying. On a side note, this isn't actually Little Anthony as I couldn't find it. What's the difference anyway?

Last, but defintely not least is the garage classic Scream by Ralph Nielson and the Chancellors. Your band name is way too long. Psychotic screams below!
